Marilyn Monroe'S battered and chewed reading glasses are expected to fetch up to $12,000 (GBP6,000) when they go up for auction this week (beg10Dec07). The Hollywood screen siren - deemed the world's highest-earning dead female celebrity - left her teeth marks in the spectacles, which come in a black silk case lined in white and feature the inscription: 'Made especially for you by Devonaire of California'. They will go under the hammer at London auction house Christie's on Wednesday (12Dec07).
