Marion Cotillard has joined the cast of Christopher Nolan's third Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
MARION COTILLARD, the French OSCAR winning actress, has been added to the cast of the highly-anticipated new Batman movie 'The Dark Knight Rises', reports E! News.Although rumours of Cotillard's inclusion have been circulating for several days now, the news took her co-star Michael Caine by surprise. During a recent interview, the British actor said he didn't know the actress has joined the cast, saying, "Marion Cotillard is in it? Nobody tells me these things. Oh, shoot. I didn't know. Well, Anne Hathaway is Catwoman isn't she? Well, that's fabulous. Tom Hardy is gonna be great too. He's a tough British actor". The new movie will see Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale reprise their roles from the acclaimed 'Dark Knight', and shooting is set to begin in May 2011. However, Caine says he is yet to receive a script, noting, "I talked to Chris (Nolan) last week 'cause I said I hadn't gotten a script and he said, 'I haven't finished it.' And he said, 'I'll finish it in two weeks'"
It is not the first time that MARION COTILLARD has worked with CHRISTOPHER NOLAN, having starred in the director's 2010 movie 'Inception'. It is currently unclear whether she will play a love interest or a villain in 'The Dark Knight Rises'.
