Embattled rap mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight has defended his pal Katt Williams after a warrant was issued for the comedian's arrest.

Williams was due to appear before a judge to be formally arraigned over allegations he was involved in a vicious bar fight earlier this month (Dec12), when he was taken into custody in Seattle and booked on suspicion of harassment, assault, and obstructing police charges.

However, Williams skipped a court hearing in Washington on Wednesday (12Dec12) due to a "medical issue" and is now a wanted man - but Knight has jumped to the defence of his friend.

The former Death Row Records boss insists Williams' alleged behavior was the result of fan harassment, telling Tmz.com, "People test him because he's small and the best comedian of all time. When people see him, they don't separate the Katt Williams on stage from the Katt Williams just being a regular person.

"That's what happens when you're the best in the business. Sometimes you just have rough times."

Williams' latest legal trouble comes after a string of arrests and altercations - he was recently hit with a lawsuit from a fan over allegations he struck the man with a microphone during a stand-up gig earlier this month (Dec12), and just last week (07Dec12) Williams was arrested following a previous high-speed police chase in Sacramento, California.
