Troubled rap mogul Marion 'Suge' Knight has been hit by further legal problems as he sits behind prison bars.

A California state appellate court upheld a $5.5 million (GBP3.4 million) judgment against Death Row Records, with regards to a lawsuit filed by rapper Kurupt's former managers.

LAMONT and KENNETH BRUMFIELD filed the lawsuit against the label, claiming it conspired to steal the hip-hop star and cheat them out of significant royalties.

The initial ruling in April (03) awarded the Brumfields $14 million (GBP8.75 million), which the judge reduced.

Earlier this month (AUG03) Knight was hit with a lawsuit from a California law firm, alleging that he fraudulently sold or gave away four properties in the Los Angeles area in order to avoid paying almost $142,000 (GBP88,750) that a judge had ordered him to pay to the firm for previous services.

Knight has been jailed since 27 June (03), after he was found guilty of violating his parole by striking a Hollywood parking valet.
