Beating victim Gavin Degraw has scrapped another 14 shows on his tour with Maroon 5 and Train as he recovers from injuries sustained from a Monday morning (08Aug11) attack on the streets of New York.
DeGraw suffered concussion, a broken nose and other injuries after a gang of thugs turned on him as he walked home from a night out with friends.
Dazed after the attack, the singer wandered into a road and was hit by a taxi.
A passerby called emergency services and the 34 year old was taken to hospital by ambulance.
He underwent surgery on his nose on Tuesday (09Aug11) and was released from doctors' care at New York University Hospital later that afternoon, but admitted in a post on his Twitter.com page that he was still "seeing double" as a result of his injuries.
He had just started the tour and announced he would miss this week's shows and now he has decided he needs more time to mend. He has cancelled all performances until 24 August (11), when the trek hits Columbia, Maryland.
DeGraw has been replaced on the road by pop star Nikki Jean.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, although they have yet to make any arrests or name any suspects.
