Matthew Broderick may be about to reprise one of his most popular characters, 'Ferris Bueller', for commercial to be aired at this year's Super Bowl. Broderick, 49, appears in a YouTube video called 'Coming Soon' (posted on January 26, 2012) in which he sits in a bathrobe and asks, "How can I handle work on a day like today?".
The cult-character appeared in John Hughes's movie 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off', released in 1986, which followed a high school kid (Ferris) who pretends to be sick so that he can ditch classes and take his girlfriend on a joyride around time. The movie also starred JENNIFER GRAY as Bueller's jealous sister Jeanie, and Alan Ruck as his best friend Cameron. The latest YouTube clip features YELLO's 'Oh Yeah - the iconic music from the movie - and displays the date '2.5.12', the day of the Super Bowl. The YouTube account 'chuckachucka2012' also features three clips from the 1986 movie. A caption for the video reads, "We hate to be such a tease, but on a day like today, we just have to. Stick it out until the Super Bowl, or take a 'day off' on Monday and catch the big reveal".
Matthew Broderick has enjoyed a firm degree of mainstream success since his role in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and recently appeared in 'Tower Heist' and the romantic comedy 'New Year's Eve'. He is married to the Sex and the City actress Sarah Jessica Parker.
