Meg Ryan's Flick Makes Way For Blockbusters
Against The Ropes is the latest victim of Hollywood's increasing attempts to make more money out of their stalling summer blockbusters.
The movie - which sees sexy Meg ditch her cute image in a tough performance as a boxing promoter - was due to be released this month (AUG03) in America but has now had its release date delayed until February 2004.
Hollywood studios want to reverse this year's 4% drop in ticket sales by keeping their big money flicks in cinemas.
An insider says, "Meg took this role very seriously. Now she has been displaced by Lara Croft."
Other critically acclaimed flicks to be affected include PROZAC NATION, starring Christina Ricci, and THE SALTON SEA with Val Kilmer.03/08/2003 13:31
