Mel Gibson was so convinced his religious epic The Passion Of The Christ needed added scenes after filming in Italy was complete, he planned reshoots in California's porn movie capital.

Gibson felt the film needed more flashback sequences to explain the life of Christ, played by Jim Caviezel, but the only appropriate place he could find for reshoots was Woodland Hills - famed for its adult movies.

He explains, "It still needed some work and we got into it and slashed it up some more.

"Afterwards, when the film was done and committed, I looked at it and I actually did go back and shoot two more flashbacks in Woodland Hills, which is known for another kind of filmmaking.

"These particular flashback scenes, which I felt were important, I put them in and they didn't work, so I extracted them again."
