Melanie Sykes has said yes and agreed to marry her boyfriend of less than a year, a man she met on micro-blogging site Twitter!
Sykes and new fiance Jack Cockings started speaking to each other in April this year, before the two eventually met in person the following month. Melanie, who currently co-presents lunch-time cooking show Lets Do Lunch with Gino Da'Campo, was again on the micro-blogging site to announce the good news to the world, Tweeting, "To my beautiful twitter friends just want to let you know that me [and] Jack are engaged to be married and we are very giddy xxxx". Today, the former model gave the world its first glance of her sparkling engagement ring as the pair were on their way to meet friends for celebratory drinks. The two are said to be planning on making the engagement official in May next year, when Melanie will walk down the aisle for the second time.
The two are said to be going for an intimate affair of a wedding and will be splitting the cost of it equally. According to a friend of his, Jack, who is a roofer by trade, bought the engagement ring using a loan he took out from his dad. She has two sons with her former husband, Italian actor Daniel Caltagirone, Roman, 10, and Valentino, 8.
