Melissa Gilbert missed Tuesday's Dancing With The Stars elimination show (April 10, 2012) following her head injury during Monday's performance. Her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy also slipped during the pair's tango, and it remains to be seen whether or not the couple will take any further part in this year's show.
Maksim was present as Tuesday's results show to explain what happened the previous night, adding, "She's a fighter...I'm looking forward to next week-actually, she's a little sedated, so she doesn't know what she's looking forward to", Chmerkovskiy appeared to suggest he and Gilbert would be continuing in their quest for the title, but sources say Gilbert is recovering from her injuries and that no decision has been made. Someone definitely not returning next week is television host Sherri Shepherd, who was eliminated after finding herself in the bottom two with Roshon Fegan. Head judge Len Goodman was shocked by the result, saying, "All of us, we are in total shock. The thing is, after 14 seasons, we figure anything can happen, but this is beyond. The standard is so high, anyone can be in jeopardy and anyone can be safe". Holding back the tears, Shepherd told the judges "Thank you for letting me live a dream. The thing that scares you the most, that makes you say, 'I don't know if I can do it, I'm scared'-run towards it, because it's so amazing on the other side".
