Hugh Jackman is heading home to Sydney, Australia to film his latest X-Men movie The Wolverine after filmmakers were forced to seek another location when the Japanese tsunami hit last year (11).
The plans was to shoot in Japan at the end of 2011 and release the film this year (12), but Mother Nature stepped in and wrecked plans, allowing Jackman to play Jean Valjean in the Les Miserables movie.
And now it looks as if producers and director James Mangold have found the perfect spot for the X-Men Origins: Wolverine sequel - Jackman's hometown.
Confirming the news, New South Wales Deputy Premier Andrew Stoner tells Australia's News.com.au, "The Wolverine is expected to generate more than $80 million in production expenditure in New South Wales and create more than 720 jobs for New South Wales-based cast and crew, along with opportunities for 1,200 extras."
The Sydney soundstage will reportedly double as a Japanese landscape for the film, which is scheduled for release next summer (13).
