Michael Douglas is refusing to let his cancer diagnosis compromise his court showdown with ex-wife DIANDRA as she battles for a slice of his earnings from the upcoming Wall Street sequel.
The Hollywood superstar is facing a claim from his former partner for a share of his pay cheque ahead of the release of Oliver Stone's Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps later this year (10).
Diandra, who split from the actor in 2000, alleges her divorce deal entitles her to half her ex-husband's salary from projects he worked on during their 20 years of marriage - including the original 1987 Wall Street movie and any possible "spin-offs".
The former couple's legal teams are set to face off in court in New York on Tuesday (24Aug10), and Diandra reportedly offered to delay the hearing in the light of Douglas' recent announcement he is battling throat cancer.
However, Douglas rejected the postponement, according to New York Post gossip column PageSix.
A source tells the publication, "Michael declined - he wants to get this over with as soon as possible."
