The memorabilia collector suing California auction house Julien's over a scrapped Michael Jackson auction has now filed legal action against the King of Pop's estate.
Richard Lapointe claims he placed the highest bids on 170 items, and last week (ends09Oct09) he demanded $5 million (£3.3 million) from Julien's boss Darren Julien for the humiliation of not landing the items.
Now he's asking for another $5 million from Jackson's estate.
Julien's Auctions owners agreed to scrap the April (09) sale over a dispute about the ownership of the 1,390 items taken from Jackson's Neverland Ranch home.
Company boss Darren Julien returned all the items to the King of Pop's estate.
In initial court papers, the bidder claims Julien's bosses notified him in writing that his registration was complete and his bids had been received before they scrapped the sale.
Lapointe claims the $5 million he's asking for is the "true market value of the items" he was bidding on.
