Michael Jackson was thrown to the ground by a mob of fans as he took his children to see a performance of Billy Elliot in London last night (08OCT05).

The singer, who was sensationally acquitted of child molestation charges in June (05), was surrounded by crazed supporters as he took children PRINCE MICHAEL I, PARIS and PRINCE MICHAEL II (BLANKET), their faces swathed in scarves, to the musical at the Victoria Palace Theatre in the British capital.

Jackson was pushed to the ground, but was quickly helped to his feet by burly bodyguards, who quickly ushered him inside the theatre.

The eccentric star is in London recording a single FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART to raise money for the US victims of Hurricane Katrina (29AUG05).

A fan attending the theatre production says, "It was absolute chaos. It turned into a real scrum. Michael was clearly trying to protect his children and in doing so lost his footing and fell over."
