A California judge has postponed a hearing over the administration of Michael Jackson's estate, to clarify family matriarch KATHERINE JACKSON's ability to challenge executors' decision-making power.
The Jacksons mum was awarded temporary administration in the days immediately following the singer's death on 25 June (09), but she lost her fight to remain in charge of the Thriller hitmaker's estate weeks later when a Los Angeles judge handed over his affairs to the star's attorney John Branca and veteran music executive John MCClain, who the King of Pop named as his executors in a 2002 will.
Branca and MCClain's lawyers claim they have already been given court permission to make day-to-day decisions about the estate without requiring them to go to court.
However, challenges from Katherine Jackson have prompted the pair to ask a judge to restate their powers.
The case will be formally heard later this month (Oct09).
