Jackson's 'Secret Sister' Speaks Of Heartbreak
Michael Jackson's alleged half-sister has spoken of her heartbreak after she met her superstar sibling for the first time - and he showed no interest in her.
JohVonnie Jackson, whose mother Cheryle Terrell had a 25-year affair with Michael's dad Joe, finally came face-to-face with the singer at a family get-together at his Neverland Ranch in 2003 after years of admiring him from afar.
But she was devastated when the Thriller legend snubbed her and instead approached her then eight-year-old daughter Yasmine to get to know her better.
JohVonnie says, "It was a big moment for me. But Michael was looking at me and seemed cold. He just said, 'Hi' and then he saw my daughter Yasmine and was fascinated with her.
"He never acknowledged that I was his sister, there was no hug or kiss, not even a handshake. No physical contact at all. I wanted to embrace him. I thought he would want to go some place quiet and sit and talk with me and ask me about my life and get to know me a little better. It was very hurtful. He was not interested at all.
"With my daughter he was totally different. She got hugs and kisses, everything I didn't get. I was a little jealous. But there was a bunch of people there and I never did get a chance to speak to Michael properly. Again, there was this theme that I felt shut out."
JohVonnie is close with Jackson siblings Jermaine and Rebbie, but admits she was also shunned by famous half-sister Janet when they met.
She adds, "I met Janet when I was 15. I saw her that one time and it was clear she never wanted to have a relationship with me. I couldn't really understand why. She was staring at me and checking me out and as soon as she heard me call Joseph 'Daddy', she switched off, turned her back and never spoke to me again."
