Lawyers representing Michael Jackson's former physician CONRAD MURRAY have filed court papers to oppose California's Medical Board's bid to ban him from practicing medicine.
In court earlier this year (10), Murray, who stands accused of administering the anaesthetic Propofol which killed Jackson, was told he could no longer use or prescribe anaesthetics to patients.
Officials at the Medical Board of California argued the doctor's license should be suspended completely and filed a legal brief on Monday (07Jun10) requesting an order that Murray "cease and desist from the practice of medicine" until his criminal trial connected to Jackson's death is concluded.
But the legal bid has left Murray fuming, and he filed his own papers on Friday (11Jun10) opposing the motion, according to TMZ.com.
Murray pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter in February (10).
A trial date will be set at a hearing on Monday (14Jun10).
