Michael Kors has teamed up with the United Nations World Food Programme to help combat global hunger.

The New York City-based label is championing World Food Day - which takes place on October 16 - by giving away a collection of Watch Hunger Stop T-shirts outside six stores in five major cities, including New York, Berlin, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo and Hong Kong, for an entire month.

A handful of lucky fans will not only be given a fabulous shirt but will also have their picture taken in a photo booth, which will then be streamed on Times Square billboards in New York City, as well as on WatchHungerStop.com.

The 54-year-old designer has also launched a new 100 Series watch - which was unveiled by Halle Berry in April - which will allow 100 children in a hunger-stricken area to receive a nutritious meal when just one wrist accessory is sold.

Kors told Marie Claire magazine: ''The response to Watch Hunger Stop has been amazing. We delivered one and a half million meals to children in less than six months, and we've only just begun.

''Our hope for World Food Day is to get people talking about hunger, and about the many ways they can help address the problem. Donate, volunteer, talk, text, tweet - really, everyone can be an ambassador.''
