British soap star Michael Le Vell has been cleared over allegations of sexual abuse.
The actor, 46, who has had a regular role in hit serial drama Coronation Street for almost 30 years, was arrested in September (11) and questioned by cops on suspicion of an offence involving a young girl.
However, police officers have now dropped the case due to insufficient evidence.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police tells the Bbc, "No further action will be taken against a 46-year-old male from Hale, arrested on suspicion of a (historical) sexual assault. A file of evidence was prepared for the Crown Prosecution Service, who decided there was insufficient evidence to charge."
Le Vell strenuously denied the allegation at the time of his arrest.
