Actor Mickey Rourke has finally "moved on" from his failed marriage to actress Carre Otis - after trying for eight years to reconcile with her.
The pair's six-year union hit an all-time low when Rourke was arrested in 1994 for spousal abuse, two years after they wed.
The charges were dropped after the former couple reconciled, but the Wrestler star and Otis failed to save their marriage, and finally called it quits when their divorce was finalised in 1998.
And despite blaming the split for his downward spiral into depression - resulting in well-documented run-ins with police and movie executives - Rourke admits he's only recently gotten over his ex, who remarried in 2005.
He says, "I still love her. I love her in a different way but I waited for her for eight years (after the divorce) for her to come back. I've moved on now. It's the first time I've been able to say that and mean it."
