Jay-Z pays homage to Miley Cyrus' twerking on his new song 'Somewhere in America'.

The rapper's track - which features on his brand new record 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' - references the former Disney starlet's impressive booty-shaking skills, with fans immediately assuming he was poking fun of her love of the popular dance craze.

Jay-Z raps: ''When I was talking Instagram/ Last thing you wanted was your picture snapped/ Feds still lurking/ They see I'm still putting work in/ Cause somewhereinamerica/ Miley Cyrus is still twerkin', ha!'' However, during a Twitter Q&A with his fans, the hip-hop star revealed he meant it as a complement.

When a follower asked, 'You really think Miley Cyrus still twerking somewhere in America?', he replied, ''yes! she represents an old worlds worst nightmare. / Black neighbor, and the daughter not seeing color (sic)''.

Miley - who famously referenced Jay-Z in her own pop anthem 'Party in the USA' - was pleased with the name-check and took to the social networking site to thank Jay-Z for fuelling her popularity.

She posted: ''Somewhere in America a Jay Z song is onnnnnn / That's a win win forrrrrr me. (sic)''

While the blonde has caused controversy with her daring look and wild antics in her new video for 'We Can't Stop' - which also sees her show off her twerking skills - the song peaked at number three on the US Billboard charts this and became the most viewed video on Vevo in 24 hours.

The singer recently said it was ''dope'' people were impressed with her ability to perform the dance move.

She enthused: ''I can't believe how many people think I'm good at twerking - which is dope - like my life goal has been accomplished. I thought it was so weird, but I'm glad that everyone understands my humour.''
