Miranda Lambert has been nominated for five Country Music Association awards, and will compete against her fiance Blake Shelton when the winners are announced at the ceremony on November 10th 2010. The CMA's are billed as country music's biggest night, and ABC will broadcast the show with Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley returning as hosts.
Lambert - who's spin on country music sees her perform with a rock and roll-style band - will compete against her fiance in the categories of 'Video of the Year', and 'Single of the Year'. Shelton's nominated song 'Hillbilly Bone' (with Trace Adkins) has already scooped an award this year - winning the Academy of Country Music's 'Vocal Event of the Year'. Lambert however will be looking to take home the night's main award - 'Entertainer of the Year' - which was won in 2009 by Taylor Swift.
Elsewhere, there were CMA nominations for Chris Young, Luke Bryan, Easton Corbin, Jerrod Niemann, and THE ZAC BROWN BAND, who were all placed in the 'New Artist of the Year' category, and for Steel Magnolia, who were nominated for 'Vocal Duo of the Year'.
