The Wiz - Comments and Message Board

The person who wrote this review is OBVIOUSLY a tabloid-junkie bigoted MJ hater, w/ a major chip on his shoulder because some1 did something horrible to him as a child. It's also quite clear that he ONLY watched this AFTER Michael's tragic 2009 death, because if he had had seen it beforehand he would've appreciated the wonder of it. Is it the perfect movie...? No. But it is enjoyable to watch because Michael makes it all worthwhile. Back when it was 1st released it was Michael who continually praised by reviewers & it was Michael every1 came to see. (I remember... I was in the audience as a 10 year old.) To the reviewer who was to much of a punk bitch to add his own name, I say get the f*** over it. Michael did nothing to you or to any1. Now just do us all a favor, & stfu, as you ease on down the road.

I've loved The Wiz since I first saw it in a movie theater as a 10 year old... the main reason, Michael. He was charming witty, funny, & could really act, despite the fact that this was his only true theatrical film role. To those who are overly critical either never understood him, his career or the film, or most importantly LATECOMERS to all things concerning Michael Jackson & are now ONLY VIEWING THE MOVIE BECAUSE OF HIS 2009 DEATH TO SEE WHAT ALL THE HUBBUB IS ABOUT or are simply put s**tty assed HATERS who still want to believe CRAP instead of 1.) admitting their defeat, 2.) letting the crap go because it's OVER or 3.) most importantly don't want to admit that they were abused as children THEMSELVES & refuse to get treatment, so they take their feelings out on Michael. To those sheeple, I say AGAIN: if you hate Michael so much then WHY ARE YOU HERE? Get help.

This movies was hilariously horrible. i almost fell out of my seat by the time i got to the scare crow (michaeil jackson). don't EVER try to mimic the classic Wizard of ozz, and if you do..dont be as retarded as this one was. seriously, what were these people thinking.

The Wiz was a great movie when I first saw it at the age of 4. I have loved it since and still love it today. All the music stuck in my head form the age of 4 and I can recite and sing every song from the movie today. Great movie for the time it was made, remember it was made in 1978.

Anything that has Michael Jackson in it will be the pits. Quincy Jones agrees with that sentiment. He's turned Jacko down in recent years. This "guy" is a bad actor, period. If he had cleaned up his habits and left little boys alone, he might have be able to pick up the pieces and move on. He did not, out and out refused to acknowledge his issues, and stated that he would continue sleeping with other people's little boys. That's just plain wrong, especially when he's the one doing it.news://alt.music.michael-jackson

I LOVED the Wiz. Don't believe the critics. Remember how many films there are that critics slandered and then they end up having Oscars!

I loved all the songs, and the dance routines, the actors were excellent, and even that early you could see that Michael Jackson is not only a genius in music but also that he is a very talented actor... It was dazzling and colorful, kind of a modern Wiz, and the only part that was so to speak unusual to me, was that Dorothy wasn't a little girl but a grown lady. Nevertheless, I enjoyed watching it and own both the dvd and the soundrack. It is interesting how some critics are so one-sided but that only gives us a good picture about their unprofessional, cranky selves... or maybe jelous?
