Kanye West is in Australia at the moment, and judging by the reaction he's not exactly been making many friends whilst performing down in the Southern Hemisphere. Headlining Australia's largest music festival Big Day Out, Ye's been angering both fans, organisers and - perhaps most worryingly of all - ageing US grunge rockers Soundgarden.
West turned up late for his festival closing slot on Sunday by 45 minutes, historically pretty good timekeeping by most rapper's standards, whilst GUNS N' ROSES AXL ROSE would probably consider it punctuality to the nth degree. However Australian crowds aren't quite so forgiving so it would seem and as time drew on many wandered off to watch other acts playing at the same time including Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds and My Chemical Romance, reports MTV. Others who stayed offered the somewhat less than charitable chants of "bulls***."
Oh dear Ye, and there was more to come with the star opting to soundcheck for his set whilst CHRIS CORNELL'S Soundgarden were playing on a nearby stage. With the sound drifting over to where the 'Black Hole Sun' group were performing, and irate Cornell stopped between songs to exclaim "Sounds like there's children playing music there, retarded children, retarded as in 'held back.' There's no other word for it." And if that wasn't bad enough, it was widely reported that Big Day Out failed to sell out for the first time since the 90s, with many pointing the finger at - you guessed it - West, for headlining the country's Splendour In The Grass just six months previously. Best get out of there quickly if you ask us Yeezy.
