Leah Messer, the American reality star best known for appearing in the MTV series 'Teen Mom 2', has suffered a tragic miscarriage. Messer, 19, recently became engaged to beau Jeremy Calvert, 22, and the pair announced the pregnancy earlier this month.
A source close to Leah confirmed the heartbreaking news to OK magazine, "She was having bad cramps for the past two weeks, and then she miscarried". Jeremy later said he would do everything in his power to support his fiancee, saying, "It's a devastating experience, but all I can do is support Leah and take things day by day. It's hard, but we will get through it". The miscarriage tops a tumultuous few years for the Mtv star, who became pregnant with twins when she was still in high school and documented her struggles on Teen Mom 2. On that occasion, she went into early labor after just six months and remained on bed rest for the final trimester of the pregnancy. Although her daughter Aleeah suffered no ill effects of the premature birth, sister Ali is understood to have struggled with health problems.
A romance with the twins' father Corey Simms led to a wedding in October 2010, but six months later the pair had divorced. A recent post on Messer's Twitter page saw the reality star defend her ex-husband amidst online criticism, saying, "Everyone I'm not being rude, but don't forget Corey is the father to my daughters!".
