US cable networks MTV and VH1 are to rebroadcast their Live 8 coverage uninterrupted tomorrow (09JUL05) after critics blasted bosses for featuring too many ad breaks and mindless chit-chat during the day of concerts a week ago (02JUL05).

The two networks will team up to present 10 hours of performances from the 10 Live 8 venues.

MTVN (corr) Music Group President VAN TOFFLER says, "In the wake of our coverage last Saturday, our viewers have resoundingly told us online they want to see full performances from their favourite artists."

Both networks will show U2, Pink Floyd, Coldplay and Sir Paul McCartney's performances, while VH1 will offer viewers the addition of Dave Matthews Band, Sting and MAROON 5 among others, and MTV will add Green Day's performance in Berlin, Germany, Linkin Park and Jay-Z, The Killers and Kanye West.
