Grunge rockers Mudhoney reached new heights on Thursday (11Jul13) after performing atop the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington to mark their record label's 25th anniversary.

The group played a 10-song set on a cramped stage assembled above the tower's observation deck, which overlooks the city and Elliott Bay, in honour of Sup Pop Records' Silver Jubilee.

Musicians Sera Cahoone and Grant Olsen also performed at the landmark event, which was documented by label bosses on their official Twitter.com page.

In a series of posts, they wrote, "Sera Cahoone performing on top of the SpaceNeedle to blue skies, blue seas, and a live audience... Close quarters on the SpaceNeedle roof for Grant Olsen from Gold Leaves... Mudhoney make sonic history on the SpaceNeedle."

Photos of the celebration were posted on the company's social networking account.
