'N Sync's rehearsals for their MTV Video Music Awards reunion were both hilarious and ridiculous, according to J.C. Chasez - the bandmates had a lot of fun working out old dance routines but couldn't believe that their secret get together leaked so quickly.

The boy band reformed to perform as part of a salute to Justin Timberlake, who picked up the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award at the Vmas and Chasez admits it was a lot of fun to reteam behind closed doors.

He tells radio host Ryan Seacrest, "Essentially everybody has remained the same and we all see each other at different times... but this was the first time we had a rehearsal together in 10 years, so everyone was going, 'Can we go through this one more time slowly?' That part was pretty funny."

But he was stunned at how fast word of the reunion spread: "When J (Timberlake) called me he's like, 'Lets really make it a treat and let's not tell anybody.'

"I don't know if there are cameras in the ceiling or whatever but... we were in rehearsal and Lance (Bass) walked in and said, 'Well, everybody knows now,' and we were like, 'How in the world did they figure it out?'"

Chasez insists that although the old pals had a lot of fun in rehearsals and onstage at the Vmas in Brooklyn on Sunday (25Aug13), there will be no more comebacks: "It was just about five guys who were great friends, who spent 10 or 15 years together touring and we... wanted to give that back to our fans, but we were there mainly to support Justin."
