The last time we saw Natalie Portman and James Franco together was the night of the Oscar awards. Given critical reaction to their performances in Your Highness , we may see them next year at the Razzies. "Why did they do it?" asks Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun-Times , who calls the movie "a Juvenile excrescence that feels like the work of 11-year-old boys in love with dungeons, dragons, warrior women, pot, boobs and four-letter words." Ty Burr in the Boston Globe echoes those sentiments, describing the movie as "a radioactive turd ,,, the most painful movie so far in a year that's already scraping the bottom of the barrel." Claudia Puig in USA Today says that watching Franco saw off his arm in 127 Hours "is preferable to sitting through this misguided raunchfest." Manohla Dargis in The New York Times is not so scathing as her colleagues, but she concludes Nevertheless that Your Highness "is a Cheech And Chong movie in period drag, so it's no wonder it goes up in smoke." Well, not quite, says Elizabeth Weitzman in the New York Daily News , and she credits James Franco for rescuing it. "His hilarious deadpan in the midst of utter insanity turns a bawdy goof into a most welcome lark indeed."
