The Nicolas Cage movie took $35.6 million (GBP17.8 million) over the weekend (29+30Dec07) to keep it ahead of surprise hit Alvin and the Chipmunks, which rose to second place with opening weekend takings of $30 million (GBP15 million). I Am Legend slipped to third with weekend receipts of $27.5 million (GBP14.6 million); followed by Charlie Wilson's War, with $11.7 million (GBP5.6 million); and Juno with $10.3 million (GBP5.2 million).
