Ne-Yo has spent $500,000 on a new mansion.

The 'Closer' hitmaker has purchased the 5,900 square foot house in Milton, Georgia, which boasts six bedrooms, five bathrooms, and finished terrace. The property also overlooks a golf course.

Two of the bedrooms are furnished with four poster beds, and the house also has an impressive courtyard with wooden decking.

The singer - real name Shaffer Chimere Smith - is possibly upsizing to accommodate his larger family, after he and fiancee Monyetta Shaw welcomed son Mason Evan Smith into the world last October. The couple also have a 16-month-old daughter, Madilyn Grace, together.

Ne-Yo has also been celebrating after recently being awarded a prize at the 43rd Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony in New York last month.

He took home the Hal David Starlight Award, given to young artists who are making a significant impact with their own compositions.

Upon accepting the accolade he talked about his songwriting, saying: ''I was a pretty riled up little kid, and if not for my mom giving me the pad and the pen and telling me to take my emotions and put them there, then there was no telling then I might I have been sticking you up or something.''
