Mulberry are releasing a new version of their Alexa bag.

The Fashion label are unveiling a reinterpretation of their best selling satchell - named after model Alexa Chung - with a host of new finishes from shiny lambskin to green lizard print.

Mulberry creative director Emma Hill told Vogue.com: "The Travel Day Bag and its gorgeous characteristics are inspired by the golden age of travel and the nostalgic glamour of vintage steamer trunks.

"We love its metal tipped corners and a smart metal logo plaque.

"It's a classic Satchel, but with a super modern yet nostalgically-inspired, twist. It's definitely a statement bag that will have all the girls drooling!"

Alexa is a huge fan of her namesake bag and has been frequently been seen carrying one, while Blake Lively, Hayley Atwell and Juno Temple have also been snapped with them.

However, Emma said the classic style's success hasn't been down to celebrity endorsements, but it being a quality piece which can easily become a "heirloom."

She added: "I think the appreciation of well-manufactured, English heritage bags is something people are willing to invest in - the idea of knowing that their Mulberry will last season after season and become a heirloom piece in their wardrobe forever.

"Then we can take classic pieces and play with them; give them a contemporary edge and a New Look."
