Biography

The All-American Rejects (formed 2001)
The All-American Rejects are an American rock band from Oklahoma. The lineup of the band consists of Tyson Ritter on vocals, bass and piano, Nick Wheeler on lead guitar, vocals and keyboard, Chris Gaylor on drums and Mike Kennerty on rhythm guitar and vocals.

The Early Years: Shortly after their formation, The All-American Rejects released their debut EP, 'Same Girl, New Songs'. To promote the record, they toured the Midwest of the USA, with Clayton Rhoades. Former members Jesse Tabish and Tim Campbell were both involved in the recording of the EP.

Towards the end of the tour, they signed a deal with Doghouse Records, making them label-mates with the likes of The Get Up Kids and River City High.

The All-American Rejects then entered the studio with the producer Tim O'Heir who had previously worked with Sebadoh and Juliana Hatfield. Their eponymous album was released in October 2001, preceded by the single 'Swing, Swing'.

The band's second album was released in September 2005. Entitled Move Along, the album featured the singles 'Dirty Little Secret' and 'Move Along'. It has been reported that the video to 'Move Along' is a tribute to their touring keyboardist, Timothy Jordan II, who had passed away. The video won the Best Group Video Award at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006.

At the end of 2005, on New Year's Eve, The All-American Rejects played a cover of 'Good Times' by The Cars, with Fall Out Boy, on the MTV channel. The following New Year's Eve, they played a gig with several bands, including Ok! Go and Chicago. The All-American Rejects performed on VH1 Rock Honors in 2006, playing a cover of Def Leppard's 'Photograph'.

The All-American Rejects' third album was released in December 2008 and was entitled When The World Comes Down. The band first hinted that they would be recording the new material in February 2008, when they changed the front page of their website to read "Recording. No Bullshit. Go outside. Later." The band use their website to broadcast occasional videos of themselves in their studio.

In June 2008, The All-American Rejects announced that they would be touring with Simple Plan, in addition to the Vans Warped Tour that they had already announced.

In October 2008, The All-American Rejects were inducted into the Oklahoma Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, as 'Uprising Stars'.
