Ambitious Stevens Looks To The Future

Ex-S CLUB singer Rachel Stevens wants to conquer America as a female JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE before launching an acting career.

The sexy popstar has been quick off the mark launching her debut solo single SWEET DREAMS MY LA EX following the demise of the squeaky-clean band earlier this year (03) - but Stevens, who has reportedly split from her TV actor fiance JEREMY EDWARDS, wants to fit as much as possible into her career.

She says, "I'd love to break America, like all artists do. It's a lot of work but, you know, it's got to be done! We had slight success over there with NEVER HAD A DREAM COME TRUE which was Top 10, and the TV show (S Club's) is quite well known over there, too."

And the star wants to replicate the massive success 'N SYNC star Timberlake has enjoyed on both sides of the Atlantic.

She gushes, "I love his music and that is the type of direction I want to go in. I'm pop through and through but with a sassier, slightly edgier R+B feel."

But Stevens has her sights set beyond the music industry, she also wants to follow up her acting experience like ex-bandmate Hannah Spearritt, who has landed a part in AGENT CODY BANKS 2.

She explains, "I want to get my solo career up and running first, but I'd love to pursue it. I love acting."
