Animal Shelter Boss Charged With Stealing From Dmx Fund
An animal shelter boss has been charged with stealing cash from an educational fund set up by rapper DMX.
ROBERT NESOFF of New Jersey's Teterboro Animal Shelter was arrested on Wednesday (09MAR05) and charged with stealing at least $5,500 (GBP2,900) from the $15,000 (GBP7,900) fund. He has since resigned from his position.
DMX was ordered to create the charitable fundraiser after he pleaded guilty to 13 counts of animal cruelty in 2002.
Police became suspicious after noticing a number of unaccounted for cheques during a routine inspection of Nesoff's financial records, writes website ALLHIPHOP.COM.
America's SOCIETY FOR THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS filed 84 animal cruelty charged against Nesoff in 2004 after the shelter failed a state health inspection check.11/03/2005 09:32
