Atomic Kitten Financially Broke

Pop trio Atomic Kitten have netted less money than predicted despite having enjoyed three British number ones.

Jenny Frost, Natasha Hamilton and LIZ MCCLARNON - who announced they are disbanding for a year - have banked less than $360,000 (GBP200,000), even though they have released a series of hit singles and three albums.

A number of songs released by the threesome have been cover versions - including ETERNAL FLAME and TIDE IS HIGH - and so earning royalties for the people who penned them and not for the girls themselves.

A source says, "The glitz and glamour of being a pop star makes people think they earn a fortune.

"Nothing could be further from the truth. Once the dust settles, they will probably wonder if the long hours and the weeks away from home were worth it."
