Backstreet Boys Reteam With Pop Legend

THE Backstreet Boys have teamed up with veteran boy band producer Max MARTIN in a bid to return to the top of the charts.

The group have reformed after a lengthy break and they're going back in time to work with the recluse who led America's 90s pop charge with themselves, 'N Sync and Britney Spears.

Singer AJ McLEAN says, "Max kind of went into hiding for a little bit, took a little break from the pop world and had a baby.

"We caught wind through our record company that there was a song he wrote that he thought would be cool for us to try.

"It's a little bit more of a rock edge, but we went in and tried it and it turned out great. It's a great record, and it's good to be around Max again."

The Backstreet Boys' still-untitled new album, which they're hoping to release later this year (04), will feature collaborations with Boyz II Men and TAKE 6.

The group are now putting the finishing touches to a planned autumn (04) tour.

Singer HOWIE DOROUGH says, "We're gonna try to kick off in September, October, maybe do Europe. We've actually started talking about doing some shows over in Japan and China for the first time."
