Beatles Show To Hit Las Vegas
The surviving BEATLES have joined forces with world renowned theatre group CIRQUE DU SOLEIL to create a new Las Vegas show.
SIR PAUL McCARTNEY and RINGO STARR will not appear in the $100 million (GBP55 million) 90-minute spectacle - which will feature a mixture of acrobatics and Beatles music - but they will be working behind the scenes along with GEORGE HARRISON's widow OLIVIA and JOHN LENNON's widow YOKO ONO.
The show will be ready to open in the summer of 2006 and will replace SIEGFRIED AND ROY's act at the Nevada's city The Mirage theatre.
Canadian theatre company Cirque du Soleil performed to more than 7 million people last year (03) and the group's founder, GUY LALIBERTE, sees similarities between their performances and The Beatles music.
He says, "They did with words what we did with images."14/10/2004 17:23
