Former Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan insists his new band Zwan will succeed because there are no "personalities" in the group this time.

The acclaimed musician tired of his old bandmates and their side projects detracting from the group's music, and vows that will not happen this time.

Billy declares, "The main distinction is that Zwan is only about music. It's not an art project or drama company or theatrical repertoire. Smashing Pumpkins always was that.

"I got weary of the personalities and explaining to the personalities why it was important to play music. I'm a musician and musicians only really care to play. We'll take the girls and the money and whatever, but music's why you got in and that's why you stay in."
