New York's upcoming BONNAROO NE FESTIVAL has been cancelled after organisers feared a repeat of the chaos surrounding last weekend's (07JUN03) Field Day event.

August's (03) Bonnaroo NE event, due to feature Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Dave Matthews, was scheduled to take place on the initial site of the Field Day festival in Suffolk County, Massachusetts, but after organisers of that event were denied a permit, promoters have decided not to go through the same hassles.

Field Day organisers were left scrambling to find a new venue at the last minute.

Bonnarroo boss ASHLEY CAPPS says, "We assessed the situation, and based on what we saw Field Day go through and seeing so much uncertainty in terms of being able to avoid the same problems, we felt like it was in everybody's best interest to end it now."
