U2 frontman Bono and Darkness rocker Justin Hawkins are fighting for the right to sing the lyric 'Tonight, Thank God it's them instead of you' in the star-studded re-release of DO THEY KNOW IT'S CHRISTMAS?

Former ULTRAVOX star MIDGE URE co-wrote the ballad for 1984's legendary charity gig Band Aid, to raise money for African famine victims, and he fears Hawkins' high-pitched voice would ruin Bono's original line in this year's (04) all-star group BAND AID III, rather than the THING CALLED LOVE hunk.

Ure explains, "Bono turned that line into his and I think it would be really difficult to replace him. The Darkness wanted to do it, but I don't think it would work with Justin's falsetto voice."
