U2 frontman Bono is desperate to secure Scottish band Snow Patrol as the support act for the Irish supergroup's forthcoming VERTIGO tour.

An insider says, "Bono is a huge fan, so fingers crossed it will happen.

"We've been in talks for eight months. But U2 are a democracy and other bands are being considered, like Razorlight."
