Campbell Upbeat As He Faces Jail

Country star Glen Campbell is upbeat about his drink driving arrest last November (03) - because it sent him into rehabilitation and prompted him to quit boozing.

The WICHITA LINEMAN singer is set to begin a 10-night jail sentence later this week (ends02JUL04) after being found guilty of a DUI offence in Arizona.

Campbell has made light of his arrest and upcoming prison spell, insisting it will inspire him to write new songs, but he's deadly serious about getting sober and staying sober.

He says, "I went to the BETTY FORD CLINIC, went through all the trials. I'm glad I went. I'm glad it happened.

"No alcohol. No drinking. No nothing. I won't do it again."
