Carlson Attacks Kanye Over Bush Racism Claims

NIP/TUCK star Kelly Carlson has blasted Kanye West for comments he made during a live Hurricane Katrina telethon last week (02SEP05) - calling the rapper "tacky".

West ignored his script on a teleprompter and instead attacked President George W Bush, stating, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," claiming the American leader didn't act quickly enough to save African-Americans stranded in the eye of the hurricane.

His outspoken comments upset Carlson because she felt West chose the wrong time and the wrong forum to attack America's leader.

She fumes, "I don't think a lot of people this day and age dislike black people. I mean I think we've kind of moved on from that.

"So, to go on television and say that, I think it's tacky, I think it's very low rent."

I live in Houston and I can assure you that food, water, bedding and clothing were waiting for the evacuee's as soon as they came into the domes here. They all were checked out medically, given updated tetanus shots, and welcomed into our community.Nobody in Houston allowed them to go without anything.(I spent 10 hours helping on that first week-end, so I do know wherefrom I speak.)

Kanye West attempted to make a statement on live television against our nations leader and didn't even realize just how much of an ass he made of himself. Mr. West is obviously unaware of what is going on here in South Louisiana. What he didn't tell the world was that the mayor of New Orleans has been warned that eventually this would happen if he did not improve the standards of our levee system. He would not use the funds that had been collected for this project for quite some time now; however, I didn't hear Mr. West saying anything about how this mayor didn't help the people. Perhaps if this mayor was a white man, Mr. West would had insulted him also. Furthermore, bringing race into this situation is uncalled for. President Bush is doing everything he can for all races devestated by Hurricane Katrina. What about the people from the Mississippi Coast? This is a predominently white population. They were stranded just as the people from New Orleans were. You don't hear them making the ignorant statement that the president doesn't like white people. Mr. West needs to get the facts straight before he opens that ignorant mouth of his. Stick to your music Mr. West and leave the thinking to those who are able to understand what they are talking about.

I find it strange that Miss Kelly Clarkson wanted to attack Kanye West over Bush when she can't even give straight-forward answers. Her comment was, "I don't think a lot of people this day and age dislike black people. I mean I think we've kind of moved on from that." You DON'T think? KIND OF moved on?? Miss Clarkson there is no way you can kind of move on..Either you do, or you don't!! At least what Kanye said came from his heart and he said what he believed in and not what he think America wanted to hear!!Speak on Kanye!!
