Casablancas Blasted For Lateness
The singer, who recently turned tee-total, was touted by other band members as being easier to work with since his newfound sobriety.
But reporter Jay McInerney, who was set to profile the LAST NITE hitmakers for New York Magazine, was stunned by Casablancas' arrogant display of disregard.
He tells gossip site PageSix.com, "I am too old to be waiting around on some egomaniacal 27-year-old who's flexing his self-importance after studying Chapter Two of Rock star 101 by Mick Jagger.
"And come to think of it, Jagger was only 20 minutes late when I met him for a profile in the mid-1980s.
"He (Casablancas) looks like he'll have something to say to the guys when he sees them.
"And I feel bad for them in advance, because I like them and I can see that they live with a tyrant."
Casablancas has since apologised to the journalist, excusing himself as having fallen asleep after feeling "a little bit sad".
