Scottish comedian Craig Ferguson drew inspiration for his new novel from his own dramatic life experiences. The LATE LATE SHOW star wrote BETWEEN THE BRIDGE AND THE RIVER as a piece of fiction, chronicling the life of a hard-drinking Scottish comedian who sets off on a voyage of self-discovery across America. But Ferguson, who has battled alcoholism in the past and moved to Los Angeles thirteen years ago after struggling to make a career for himself in Britain, admits the work is largely autobiographical. He says, "Sometimes I imagine I am going to wake up in six months and be exposed as a fraud when someone works out it's all true. "Put it this way. I could not have written this book without drawing heavily from my own life experiences."
