Crow Gig To Take Flight
Rocker Sheryl Crow is to perform a unique concert in May (04) - on board a UNITED AIRLINES flight across America.
The FIRST CUT IS THE DEEPEST singer will play a 40 minute acoustic set to promote Sony's new online music service CONNECT, as the plane flies between Chicago and Los Angeles on 4 May 2004.
United Airline's loyalty services vice president DAVE KEENAN enthuses, "I like to think of it as taking in-flight entertainment to all new heights."
After landing, Crow will perform again at a party which will also celebrate the launch of a new Sony digital Walkman.
Sony Connect plans to have more than a half-million songs available for download for 99 cents (GBP0.55); albums will cost $9.95 (GBP5.50). With United's MUSIC FOR MILES program, frequent flier customers will be able to earn miles when purchasing downloads, as well as buy music with miles. Both sites will launch later this spring (04).20/04/2004 21:08
