Movie-makers behind the star-studded adaptation of bestselling book THE DA VINCI CODE have landed prestigious filming locations in Paris's Louvre museum and England's Lincoln Cathedral.

Director Ron Howard and COLUMBIA PICTURES have secured the French capital's stunning gallery - home to LEONARDO DA VINCI's masterpiece THE MONA LISA - the scene of a murder in novelist Dan Brown's gritty thriller.

The film's stars Tom Hanks, Audrey Tautou and SIR Ian McKellen will also descend on the city of Lincoln to spend two weeks at the ancient cathedral, which is to double for London's Westminster Abbey, in the summer (05).

ALEC KNIGHT, the Dean of Lincoln, gushes, "To me, as a Christian, there are aspects of the book that make no sense at all, but at least the film will ensure that our faith is discussed as a live issue.

"If people want to find out the truth, we shall be happy to help them."

Louvre bosses agreed back in January (05), with the museum's director HENRI LOYRETTE enthusing, "There is really a very strong desire to see the film adaptation of this book, which is world famous, shot at the Louvre."
