Darkness' Pouillain: 'Cracks' Are Appearing
Rockers The Darkness are "sick to the back teeth of each other", according to bassist FRANKIE POUILLAIN.
The I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE band have been almost constantly on the road for over a year in support of their smash debut album PERMISSION TO LAND, and are beginning to annoy each other.
But Pouillain believes the tension will be good for the group's creative dynamic.
He says, "There could be some cracks appearing, but without the friction there is no spark. You can't create a spark without friction.
"The thing is you sacrifice, you bite your lip for the common good, the more noble goal, and that's what we're all focused on. So we're all focused on the same objective.
"Okay yeah, of course there's fights and everything. We get sick to the back teeth of each other.
"We all have our little faults. (Singer) Justin Hawkins is farting all the time. (Drummer) ED GRAHAM whinges all the time. I'm perhaps a little too cynical for my own good. (Guitarist) Dan Hawkins is a bit of a martyr.
"But that's what creates the band, it's the chemistry, so I think it's a good thing."07/07/2004 20:51
