British R+B star Craig David was so affected by seeing his friends ruin their lives by taking drugs, it made him more determined to get into music. The WALKING AWAY hitmaker had already started writing songs as an escape from the bullying he suffered at school, and was not going to let drugs and crime wreck his dreams. He says, "Friends who had been smoking weed 24/7 suddenly got into crack, and from there it was downhill fast: petty theft, stealing cars, burglaries, holding up shopkeepers. "But that was never going to be me, not even the weed. "I just knew I wanted to sing, and I'd let nothing jeopardise that."
